EXTERIOR PATIO COATING IN EASTERN WASHINGTON

An exterior patio takes everything the weather throws at it — Eastern Washington summers mean UV intensity and heat that bleaches and breaks down unprotected concrete. Winters bring freeze-thaw cycles that cause spalling and surface damage year after year. If you're walking on a bare concrete patio, a slippery pool deck, or an outdoor walkway showing age and wear, a professional exterior coating is the right move.

Bedrock Surfacing & Coating installs outdoor-rated coating systems specifically engineered for exterior exposure. We use UV-stable polyurea topcoats that won't yellow or fade under the Tri-Cities sun, and we broadcast anti-slip aggregates into the coating for safe traction underfoot — even when wet. These systems are not the same as interior garage coatings. Outdoor materials must handle thermal expansion, direct UV, and moisture intrusion from below and above simultaneously.

We work on residential patios, pool decks, covered and uncovered walkways, and exterior commercial concrete. Whether you want a clean neutral gray, a warm earth tone, or something with more decorative character, we can match the finish to your outdoor space. The result is a patio that looks intentional, stays safe, and holds up through real Eastern Washington conditions.

FAQ

PATIO COATING QUESTIONS

Will the coating fade in the Eastern WA sun?

We use UV-stable polyurea topcoats specifically for exterior applications. Unlike standard epoxy (which yellows under UV), polyurea maintains its color and clarity outdoors. It's engineered for direct sun exposure.

Is the coating slippery when wet?

No — we broadcast anti-slip aggregate into every exterior coating. This creates a textured surface that provides traction underfoot even when wet. It's the standard for pool decks and outdoor surfaces specifically because wet safety matters.

Can you coat a patio with existing cracks?

Minor surface cracks can be filled and coated over. Active or wide structural cracks may require repair before coating. We'll assess this during the quote. A surface that's too deteriorated to coat will be given an honest assessment — we won't coat something that won't hold up.

What color options are available?

We offer a range of solid colors from neutral grays and tans to bolder accent tones. For patios, earth-tone neutrals are popular because they complement landscaping and stay cool in summer heat. We'll show you samples during the quote process.
